Sinful by Charlotte Featherstone5/22/2023 ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, the heroine has a very strong since of morality, which is also described at length, but ends up as the mistress of a married man with little explanation. Therefore, the immediate change of personality the hero undergoes is a bit confusing. Unfortunately this isn't described as a "love at first sight" scenerio, but more of a "lust at first sight" situation. The author spends a good amount of time describing his playboy past, and yet he literally changes overnight because of the heroine. For instance, the hero in the book is the worst kind of rake. The story itself is decent, although there is a great deal of time given to character development, and then not enough time given to how the characters' personalities change due to their circumstances. He takes huge breaths in the middle of sentences and places emphasis on words in a way that makes no sense. I have never heard a narrator with such terrible phrasing. Unfortunately it was difficult to tell if this book was disappointing because of the horrible reading or the plot development. ![]()
